Deviation Actions
It has come to my attention that over the last month, very few submissions have been approved by our leadership. Now, this is not criticism, but it begs the question, why?
Membership requests are turned down for various reasons, but if a look at the prospective member's page is done, let's make it less than cursory. There may only be three deviations in features, but check for other categories and see if there's any political material. And let's be sure we're not turning down members for their political beliefs. Unless we want to keep our organization to the left of center, we need to be encouraging all types of philosophies into our discussions. (Nazis excluded by Godwin's Law, of course)
Also, what exactly do we want members for? Anyone can make comments and deviations by non-members can be submitted by members. What is the advantage to being a member that non-members covet? Are we making it worth it?
I know that deviations are being denied due to being submitted to the incorrect category. However, when this happens, it's important that we notify the artist that this is the reason. I know it's easy enough for me to get in a hurry and forget to pick a category or choose the wrong one by mistake. Do we really want to chase off members by being abrupt and sounding rude? How many keystrokes does it take to say, "Please resubmit to proper folder." (33)
Also I am seeing 5 turndown votes with no comments. At some point when we changed the number of votes needed to accept a deviation, I remember reading we wanted to see the reasons we voted the way we did. It wasn't my idea, but it was out the, and it was good.
And finally, if we want to encourage membership and submission, I think we need to be sending out invitations when we find appropriate candidates and being clear about why we accept or deny what comes to us. Keeping a record is important to both preserving our past and determining our future.
Hey, just sayin'

The Founder: My Expression Of Gratitude
I want to take a brief moment to thank all of the elected officials (the Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Senators, Congressmen/women, Judges, Lawyers, Secretaries,), and all of the Ambassadors, writers, editors, artist, and everyone else who had worked so hard over the years to make this experiment such a success.
We were the very first Forum-based Group, the largest, the longest lasting, and had the best political art on deviantART. Everyone who came after us modeled themselves after us.
I cannot thank everyone enough for all that they contributed.

About Submissions
Dear DAPoliticalForumClub Members,
As you know, this group have submissions policy regarding deviations that get submitted here. I am going to post them here for future reference. This is to insure that, if you can't find the policy at Hansard-TheLaw, you can find them here:
Amendment III.. Respect Copyright.
Clause A. Do not copy and post entire copyrighted articles. If you wish to reference an article, provide a brief excerpt and include a link to the original source. Generally, excerpts should not exceed two or three paragraphs. This rule also applies to images in signature lines.
Clause B. Be aware, using someone else's artwork, even
Donald Trump, 45th POTUS!!
What does his inaugeration tomorrow mean to you? Do you bless and praise it, or curse and fear his taking the Oath of Office? Will you watch and cheer his taking the oath, or actively protest
Fidel Castro dead at 90.
The news out of Cuba is that Fidel Castro has died. Confirmed by his brother Raul, Castro's remains will be cremated.
His death marks the end of an era in many ways, and Fidel will remain a controversial figure for many years to come. Certainly, he is reviled by many in the Exile community. There is likely much celebrating in Miami and elsewhere. To many across Latin America and the developing world, he was a hero and icon of opposition to US Imperialism. He will be mourned wherever such persons are found.
That is all.
